Standards have begun to have an interesting impact on the printing industry. As print buyers familiarize themselves with standards and specifications such as GRACoL (General Requirements for Application in Commercial Offset Lithography), SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) and ISO (International Standards Organization), they begin to expect the color that printing to these standards produces. One result of this is that customers have started to expect that printers in different locations should be able to match the same output. This is not a problem for those printers calibrated to these standards and specifications. (more)

The answer to the above headline question is a thundering ‘Yes’ for about 99 percent of everyone reading these words. Why? Because it is almost certain that before 2009 ends, the tax law will be changed to make the “unified credit” (the amount of your wealth that can be left to your heirs free of the estate tax) $3.5 million (or more) per person. That’s at least $7 million —tax-free — for a married couple.
