Courier Corporation gains triple certification
Courier Corporation, one of America’s leading book manufacturers and specialty publishers, has been awarded Chain-of-Custody certification by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forestry Certification (PEFC). This new dual certification complements the company’s existing certification by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and marks Courier as “triple certified” for its systematic adherence to environmentally responsible practices in the use of paper and other forest products throughout its five manufacturing locations. Global press manufacturer KBA North America has completed its move to Dallas after 17 years of having its North American headquarters in Williston, Vt. The company’s new North American headquarters for all sheetfed and web press operations is located in a 60,000 square foot complex at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. (more)

It doesn’t matter if you think the sky is falling on the printing industry or if the containers of ink and toner are more than half full, both camps will acknowledge we have had to resort to new and sometimes drastic methods to attract and retain business. The constant struggle to compete can result in so much paranoia about alienating customers that the song most often played by the sales department is, “We Can’t Charge For That” referring to invoicing for services above and beyond the call of duty.
