Capital Offset Co. prints official Obama inaugural book
Capital Offset Company Inc, of Concord, N.H., had the unique opportunity to print one official publication to record the start of the administration of President Barack Obama.

Capital Offset printed “Barack Obama, The Official Inaugural Book”. The book is produced in collaboration with the Inaugural committee and is published by Five Ties Publishing, New York. This coffee table style book features more than 150 photographs, with 192 pages, hard cover, with an initial printing of 50,000.

On Friday, March 13 President Obama reviewed PDF proofs, the final approval before the presses began to roll, beginning a press run featuring two Heidelberg multi color presses running round the clock for six days. While there are a few “rush to market” competitive books on the Inauguration, this is the one sanctioned by the White House and which a copy will end up in the Oval Office. In addition to the spectacular public photographs of the Inaugural weekend, what makes this book so special is the “special access” granted photographers for the behind the scenes shots which are so unique.

The book is timed to be available in bookstores nationwide timed with President Obama’s 100 days in office.

“We were selected as printer for this assignment based on our history of producing premium illustrated books for discerning audiences,” said company President Jay Stewart. “Much of the work we do here is for fine art museums and similar institutions where color quality and accuracy is critical, so while this project is not unusual in many ways, the content here is truly exceptional and exciting for all of us here.”
