Springfield Printing secures $2.24 million tax-exempt bond
Springfield Printing Corp., a commercial printing company in Springfield, Vt., has received a $2.24 million tax-exempt industrial revenue bond from the Vermont Economic Development Authority to pay for a recently installed six-color, Mitsubishi sheetfed press.

People’s Capital and Leasing Corp. has committed to purchasing the tax-exempt bond for the commercial sheetfed printing company in North Springfield, Vt. Springfield, which currently has 38 employees, is expected to add five employees within three years, says VEDA.

Company co-owner and president Mark Sanderson said the press is part of Springfield Printing’s environmental initiative. He said the cleanup process for the new press reduces volatile organic compounds when compared to the 14-year-old press it is replacing. The commercial printer is FSC certified.
