New leaders take the reigns of PINE’s Board of Directors
New chairman, vice chair & four new directors in place for 2008
A slate of executive officers and four industry executives were nominated and appointed to the Board of Directors at the Printing Industries of New England’s 2007 annual meeting, the 120th annual meeting in the history of New England’s largest trade association for printing and graphic communications companies.

Charles “Tad” Parker, president, Odyssey Press, Gonic, N.H., was elected chairman for a one-year term. Accompanying him as executive officers for 2008 are Gary Kittredge, president, Dartmouth Printing Company, Hanover, N.H. who will serve as vice chair; Tim Donohue, chief financial officer, Ames Safety Envelope, Somerville, Mass. who was reelected to serve as secretary/ treasurer; and Thomas Gardner, president, Curry Printing, Westborough, Mass., who will serve as immediate past chair after completing two one-year terms as board chairman.

Four industry executives elected to the board for the first time include Steve Andrews, president, RR Donnelley, W.E. Andrews Plant, Bedford, Mass.; Richard Tardiff, president, J.S. McCarthy Co., Augusta, Maine; Joseph La Valla, president, Integrity Graphics, Windsor, Conn.; and Hillary Librot, president, Web. Corp., Randolph, Mass.

Other directors continuing on the board include Bob Clement, president, The Allied Group, Cranston, R.I.; Russ Frizzell, president, Bay State Envelope, Mansfield, Mass.; Dave Cady, vice president, Atlantic Graphic Services, Clinton, Mass.; Peter Cook, president, Concord Litho, Concord, N.H.; Kevin Kervick, president, Bassette Company, Springfield, Mass.; Ward McLaughlin, president, Boutwell, Owens & Co., Fitchburg, Mass.; Dominick Peluso, president, Shawmut Printing Company, Danvers, Mass.; and Jay Smith, president, Matheson Higgins/Congress Press, Woburn, Mass.

Executives whose board appointments ended at the annual meeting included Charles Poor, president, Flagship Press, North Andover, Mass.; Richard Saltzberg, president, Charles River Publishing, Boston; Christopher Wells, CEO, LVI, Worcester, Mass. and Jeff Pallis, president, DS Graphics, Lowell, Mass.

Also, John Merrill of BFS Business Printing, Boston, and Bernard Spirito of Bassette Company, were reelected to one-year terms on the association’s finance committee.
