Matheson Higgins/Congress Press
adds two new presses
One of the new presses is a Bobst 1280 with an Eagle Foil Pull System and is capable of running a sheet size up to 36 by 49½ inches. This is a high-speed press with lots of tonnage to produce a deep, crisp emboss, or large, foil-stamped areas. The second new press is a Johannisberg with a Beddis Kenley Artfoil System and is capable of running a sheet size up to 28 by 40 inches. The Johannisberg is a cylinder press that stamps fine type or large solids easily. Both of the new presses, installed last December, have already been used extensively. “As we continue to grow,” said company president Jay Smith, “it was important that we enter the larger sheet market, and that meant we needed two of the larger presses. Now we have the capabilities to service all of our market.” In addition to the new presses, MH/CP stamping and embossing capability includes seven automatic presses for sheet sizes up to 14 by 22 inches; three automatic presses for sheet sizes up to 20 by 28 inches; and two hand-feed presses for sheets up to 28 by 40 inches. Matheson Higgins/Congress Press has been serving printers and designers since 1925. Since that time, it has earned a reputation for skilled craftsmanship, best-in-class quality, and impeccable finishing techniques. The company specializes in a full range of finishing services, including foil stamping, embossing, engraving, die cutting, folding, and gluing and mounting. For samples of work produced on these presses, or further information about the firm’s capabilities, contact Jay Smith at 781-935-6400 or by email Jay@mhcp.com. Visit www.mhcp.com for information. |
