Baldwin Technology Co. gets $5 million order
Order kick starts Connecticut firm’s new fiscal year
Baldwin Technology Company, Inc., a manufacturer of printing press accessories and control equipment based in Shelton, Conn., has secured an order valued in excess of $5 million from the Nikkei Group in Japan through its subsidiary Baldwin Japan.

The order is for Baldwin’s high performance SD-H spray dampening systems and IMPACT SW blanket cleaning systems, which will be fitted on the newspaper presses for Nikkei Group’s Japan Economic Journal. The systems are designed to improve print quality, reduce start-up waste and deliver major savings in water and ink consumption. The Nikkei Group placed the order following its decision to increase the number of color pages in the 48-page Japan Economic Journal from 12 to 24 for the Beijing Olympic Games in August 2008.

“The order from the Nikkei Group is a great start to our new fiscal year and it is one of the largest orders in our company’s history,” said President and COO Karl S. Puehringer.
