Universal Graphix buys United Lithograph
Sales now top $50 million
One of the fastest growing printing companies in the Boston area, Universal Graphix, has purchased United Lithograph in Somerville, Mass., from Cenveo.

The terms of the purchase were not disclosed, but Universal Graphix has retained all 68 employees at the commercial and digital printing company. The purchase is the fourth recent acquisition by the Rockland, Mass.-based company, which has changed its name from Graphic Services to Universal Graphix to better reflect the growing scope and presence of the company.

The deal now puts Universal Graphix’s annual revenues at $50 million.

The company — which also operates a fulfillment and distribution operation in Hanover, Mass. — will consolidate all of its print operations at locations in Rockland and Somerville.

“This new acquisition will allow us to more effectively compete within the commercial marketplace,” said Bill Fitzgerald, Universal Graphix’s president and chief executive officer. “We have had phenomenal success in the financial and educational markets and we look to apply our customer-focused model to the commercial marketplace.”
The company also purchased a 40-inch 10-color Komori perfector press with aqueous coater.
