| New England Printer & Publisher, established in 1938, is an award winning journal for the New England printing, publishing, design and allied graphic arts trades. It is published monthly and has a circulation of more than 4,000. Essentially a news magazine, NEP&P contains industry and trade association news, especially as it relates to New England and upstate New York. Other sections deal with People, Calendar of Events, Supplier and Literature releases. Approximately four feature articles per issue deal with company profiles, printing management, how-to-do or problem solving articles, and reports on economic and technological developments. |

Inserts
$1,142 per insert for 15x where special handling is not required.
Deduct 10 percent for 611x and deduct 20 percent for 12x. Single sheet
printed both sides count as one insert. For single sheet printed on one side
publisher reserves the right to back-up with editorial matter. For two or
more insert sheets, a 25 percent discount on earned rate applied. Mechanicals:
Inserts are to be supplied trimmed to 9"
x 12" with 8 1/2" x 11" image area positioned to permit printer
to collate, bind and trim 1/4" at top, 3/8" at right, 3/4"
at bottom and 1/8" at left (gutter). Insert paper weight: 60# text minimum
– 12 pt maximum.
Mechanical Requirements
New England Printer & Publisher
is printed offset, sheetfed and perfect bound, 150 line screens accepted,
175 line screens recommended. Trim size is 8 1/2" x 11". Digital
Art is Required.
Spreads: For double page spreads, allow 1/8" loss at gutter margin. Two separate files are preferred with 1/4" overlap at gutter.
Full Page Ads: There is no additional charge for bleeds. Please allow 1/8” for each bleed edge.
Supported Applications: Quark, Illustrator (to ensure reliable output, always use “create outlines” when using fonts in Illustrator), Photoshop, PDF, In Design, Pagemaker. Note: Please turn off OPI in the print menu or disable the extension in Quark.
Graphics: Save your photo file in TIFF or EPS format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Do not compress graphics using JPEG or LZW. Include all placed graphics on the disk. Save all images at the same size that they will appear in your advertisement.
Fonts: Include all fonts on disk (printer and screen fonts). If sending files electronically always compress font files to prevent corruption.
Color: Save color images in CMYK format unless you have purchased a matched Pantone color for your ad. If a spot color is used, please note the color on your proof. For black & white ads always convert to grayscale. Always convert RGB or PMS colors in documents to CMYK breakdowns unless PMS spot color has been specifically purchased.
Proofs: Please send along with your disk 2 color proofs for all color ads, or 2 laser prints for black & white ads. Low-resolution PDF proofs also accepted.
Ad Size: Indicate crop marks for full page ads at trim size. Set up fractional ads exactly to the sizes stated in chart above.
Contract/Rate Policies
If order and contracts received are not in accordance with this rate card,
the latter rates and regulations will prevail. The Publisher reserves the
right to reject any advertisement or place the word “advertisement”
over advertisements, which in the opinion of the Publisher, resemble editorial
matter. Advertisers and their agents assume liability for advertising contents
and claims arising against the Publisher. Short rates will be issued if, within
the 12-month period, advertisers do not use contracted number of insertions.
Rebates will be issued, if within the 12-month period advertisers have used
additional insertions to qualify for a lower rate.
New England Printer & Publisher is published monthly on the first of the
month. Consult our deadlines for closing
dates. No cancellations will be accepted after closing.
Payment Terms/Conditions
Bills are rendered upon publication. Payment terms are net 30 days. There
are no cash discounts. The Publisher reserves the right to assess a 1.5% finance
charge per month on all outstanding balances over 30 days past due. Recognized
advertising agencies may receive a 15% discount from the gross billing rate,
provided account is paid in full within 30 days.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of ads after the deadline for space reservations obligates the
firm reserving space, which is then financially responsible for the commitment.
That is, if an agency placed the reservation on its client’s behalf,
the agency is financially responsible; if the client placed the reservation
directly, the client is responsible. Advertisers not fulfilling their frequency
insertions during the contract period will be invoiced such additional amount(s)
as indicated in the appropriate frequency bracket. Cancellation of contracts:
Rates will be reconstructed to the rate card in effect at the time of the
cancellation. Cancellations must be in writing.
