UniGraphic Inc., a full-service general commercial
and large-format printer located in Woburn, Mass., will purchased two
KBA presses: a Rapida 105 41-inch seven-color sheetfed offset press
and a 74 Karat digital offset waterless press. Both presses are in the

Pitman Company, an independent North American graphic
arts supplier, has acquired the Charrette company,
a provider of digital and traditional imaging supplies, equipment and
services to the graphics, corporate and technical design marketplaces,
and the largest provider of wide-format inkjet equipment, supplies and

Order kick starts Connecticut firm’s new fiscal year
Baldwin Technology Company, Inc., a manufacturer of
printing press accessories and control equipment based in Shelton, Conn.,
has secured an order valued in excess of $5 million from the Nikkei
Group in Japan through its subsidiary Baldwin Japan. (More)

Printing installs third Komori press
Owner cites positive history with Komori in choosing the
LS40
Colonial Printing, a commercial sheetfed printer in
Warwick, R.I., that serves a diversified client base that includes advertising
and design agencies, corporate marketing departments and universities,
has recently installed a six-color Komori Lithrone S40 press with in-line
aqueous coater. Colonial Printing’s need to meet customer requirements,
the demands of its growing business and a favorable experience with
Komori products and services were all cited as driving factors in choosing
the LS40. Having seen its business double in size since installing its
first 40-inch six-color Komori press with coater in 2004, Colonial Printing
needed a second, highly automated press to continue its impressive growth.

A new five-color Heidelberg CD Press with Ultraviolet coating that has
the capability of printing .030 plastic membership, credit and I.D.
U.V. coated cards in line has been installed at Pilgrim Plastics,
the plastics printing component of Star Printing in Brockton, Mass.
The speed of this new press is up to 15,000 sheets per hour. This press
is multifunctional in that it can print paper as well as plastic in
