Goodway Graphics: Venerable company makes transition
from offset to digital; sees a bright and busy future

Breaking
the myths of overseas printing
By Ron Ellis
Printing overseas is a growing trend and in five years China is expected
to be the third largest supplier of printing in the world. There are
more than 100,000 printing companies there. And while general growth
in China has continued at a rate of 7 percent, the Chinese printing
industry has grown at a rate of 10 to 12 percent. It is clearly one
of the rising segments of the Chinese economy. In the near future, the
United States print markets will see increased competition from overseas
competitors.
Add
interest and value with foil stamping and embossing
By Frank Shear
If you need to draw extra attention to a project and significantly boost
its perceived value, look no further than foil stamping and embossing.
These finishing techniques can be performed alone or in combination
to enhance an already eye-catching design. Their versatility allows
them to add a look of simple elegance, exquisite and intricate distinction,
or anything in between.
Don’t
take new hires for granted
By Bill Lee
Hiring good people is only half the battle. The other half is keeping
them, especially in a relatively strong economy where quality people
are difficult to attract. Let’s face it. It has never been tougher
to find quality people. While national unemployment figures are mixed
over the past year, there are many markets that are still classified
as tight labor markets. In these markets, especially, this means that
just about anyone who wants to work is already working, so to find quality
people, managers must put on their selling shoes and persuade candidates
that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
