Audits: Environmental and OSHA plant
compliance walk-through visits which typically range from 1-3 hours.
A meeting with management to review the findings and recommendations
will follow each visit. Upon request, a detailed written report
outlining the discussed findings and recommendations will be completed.
Follow-up compliance information will be forwarded as requested.
Noise Exposure Walkaround
Survey
For no charge, PINE will perform a noise
exposure “walkaround survey” of your facility. This
consists of taking noise decibel readings with a Sound Level Meter
at various locations throughout the facility. (More)
OSHA
Compliance Assistance: Review and comment on plant-specific
OSHA written programs. Provide management with practical methods
for complying with OSHA’s complex rules. In the event of an
OSHA inspection, assist with negotiating with OSHA to reduce compliance
infractions and fines.
Environmental
Compliance Assistance: Assist with completion of environmental
reports and permits to agencies such as the EPA, MA DEP, MWRA, NH
DES, VT ARD, ME DEP, RI DEM and Narragansett Bay Commission. Assist
with mediation of regulatory violations and fines with the above-mentioned
agencies.
On-Site
Training: Conduct on-site training to member companies for
environmental, health and safety issues such as Lockout/Tagout,
Hazard Communication (MSDS), Personal Protective Equipment, Forklift
Safety and Hazardous Waste Management. Employee group training and
individual train-the-trainer sessions are available upon request.
On-Site
Specific Assistance: Visit member sites to assist with plant
specific environmental and safety issues such as hazardous waste
management, flammable storage requirements, indoor air quality complaints,
etc.
OSHA
10-Hour General Industry Outreach Training
for the Printing Industry Designed
to help you and your employees work safer, lower your workers’
compensation and increase your compliance with OSHA regulations,
the training is geared specifically toward the hazards associated
with the printing and graphic communications industry including
commercial printers, finishing shops, binderies and mail, fulfillment
and distribution centers. (More)

Assistance: Provide technical assistance on all matters concerning
environmental and safety issues. Forward requested information to
member via email, fax or regular mail.
Ergonomics-Related
Assistance: Assist member companies with ergonomics evaluations
and long-term ergonomic solution development. Includes meeting with
management to discuss goals of ergonomic evaluations and performance
of a job hazard analysis. Upon request, a written report will be
completed.
Plant
Expansion/Relocation Assistance: Review plant expansion/relocation
goals with management and provide guidance for dealing with the
regulatory issues associated with those goals. Flammable and hazardous
waste storage, plant ventilation and air permit issues are typical
regulatory items that must be considered during expansion and/or
relocation. Provide plant layout assistance to meet production needs
and to evaluate safety issues (such as noise).
Bulletins
& Articles: Provide members with updates on regulatory
issues through targeting bulletins, PINE-A-GRAM articles and New
England Printer & Publisher articles.
Government
Affairs: Work with environmental agencies to develop flexible
regulatory policies and regulations specifically for the printing
